Custom Request & Deposit Policy
ThunderStomp Threadz creates custom embroidered jackets and other wearable art, from individual custom pieces to large-quantity projects. Because each project has different design, production, and payment requirements, the terms below distinguish between standard single-jacket orders and large-quantity custom projects.
Please review the applicable terms carefully before placing an order or submitting payment.
1. Scope of Policy & Order Types
This policy covers individual custom jacket orders and large-quantity custom projects.
Standard Single-Jacket Custom Orders: Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, individual custom jacket orders follow the standard $150 deposit, automatic second-payment schedule, and applicable cancellation and abandonment terms outlined below.
Large-Quantity Custom Orders: Projects involving multiple garments may have different deposit amounts, estimated prices, payment schedules, production timelines, and delivery arrangements. These terms will be established through an individual quote, invoice, or written project agreement.
The standard $150 deposit and automatic second-payment schedule do not apply to large-quantity projects unless expressly agreed upon in writing.
Where a project-specific written agreement establishes different terms, those terms will govern the matters they specifically address.
2. Garment Branding, Maker Identification & Customization
Original Manufacturer Details
Garments used in ThunderStomp Threadz products are sourced from retail suppliers and may retain original manufacturer details, including branded buttons, hardware, labels, or other identifying features. These details may vary depending on the garment and supplier.
ThunderStomp Threadz Branding & Artist Signature
Finished garments include ThunderStomp Threadz maker branding, which may consist of our brand logo and an artist signature identifying the maker of the piece.
Customer Acknowledgment
By placing an order, customers acknowledge that original manufacturer details may remain on the garment and that ThunderStomp Threadz branding and an artist signature may be included on the finished piece.
Unless an alternative arrangement has been expressly agreed upon in writing before production begins, these details may remain on the finished garment.
Requests to remove, cover, relocate, or otherwise alter manufacturer branding or maker identification must be discussed and approved in writing before production. Such changes are not guaranteed and may involve additional charges.
This acknowledgment applies to both standard single-jacket orders and large-quantity custom projects.
3. Single-Jacket Custom Order Deposit Requirement
A non-refundable $150 deposit is required to begin a standard single-jacket custom order.
The deposit is credited toward the final order total if the order is completed in accordance with the applicable terms of this policy.
The deposit does not represent the full price of the jacket. Final pricing depends on the design, embroidery complexity, stitching density, labor, materials, and requested add-ons.
Large-quantity custom projects are subject to the separate payment arrangements outlined in Section 9.
4. Single-Jacket Payment Schedule
Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, standard single-jacket custom orders use the following three-stage payment schedule.
Step 1 — Initial Deposit: $150
-
Paid at checkout to reserve your production spot.
-
Initiates the custom order process.
-
Is credited toward the final order total, subject to the cancellation and abandonment terms of this policy.
Step 2 — Automatic Second Payment: $150
-
Automatically charged to the original payment method 14 days after order placement.
-
Is credited toward the final order total, subject to the applicable cancellation and abandonment terms.
-
Is charged regardless of customer responsiveness unless the customer cancels the custom request by emailing inquire@thunderstompthreadz.com before the 14-day mark.
To prevent the second payment, cancellation must be communicated by email before the scheduled charge. Customers should allow sufficient time for their cancellation request to be received before the payment is processed.
Step 3 — Final Balance
Once the jacket is complete, the remaining balance will be invoiced through Shopify.
The jacket will ship only after the final balance has been paid.
The initial deposit and second payment are credited toward the final order total. These payments do not establish or guarantee the total price of the completed jacket.
5. Estimated Pricing & Final Cost — Single-Jacket Custom Orders
Most standard single-jacket custom orders range from $300–$750+, depending on the design and production requirements.
Preliminary Estimates
An approximate price range discussed before the design and production requirements are finalized is an estimate, not a guaranteed final price, unless expressly identified as a fixed quote in writing.
The final price reflects the work required to complete the agreed design, including embroidery complexity, stitching density, labor, materials, and requested add-ons.
Final Pricing & Additional Work
The final price may vary from an initial estimate when the actual production requirements differ from those anticipated at the time of quoting.
If additional work, design changes, or unforeseen production requirements are expected to materially increase the price beyond the estimate provided, ThunderStomp Threadz will communicate the revised pricing and seek the customer's agreement before proceeding with the affected work.
Requests for additional embroidery, design revisions, added materials, or other work beyond the agreed scope may result in additional charges. Where reasonably practicable, these charges will be communicated and approved in writing before the additional work begins.
Any agreed changes to the design, project scope, or pricing should be documented in writing.
The $150 initial deposit and $150 second payment are credited toward the final order total, subject to the cancellation and abandonment provisions of this policy.
6. Payment Options for Single-Jacket Final Balances
The final balance for a standard single-jacket custom order is collected through a manual Shopify invoice sent by email.
Shop Pay Installments may be requested for the final invoice. Approval is not guaranteed and must be requested before the jacket is completed.
If approved:
-
A Shopify invoice will be sent for the final balance.
-
Eligible Shop Pay Installments options may be available at checkout.
-
If the invoice is paid in full through Shopify, no further charges will be applied to the original payment method for that same final balance.
-
The jacket ships only after the applicable final balance has been paid.
If the final invoice is not paid within the applicable payment deadline, the order may be treated as abandoned under Section 13.
Large-quantity project payment options and deadlines are established separately in the applicable project agreement.
7. Rush Order Fees
Rush production may be available depending on the production schedule, workload, and project requirements.
A rush fee may be added when expedited production is requested and approved.
For single-jacket orders, any applicable rush fee will be communicated before the customer agrees to the expedited production arrangement and may be added to the final balance.
For large-quantity projects, rush fees and revised production or delivery timelines must be established in the applicable quote or written project agreement.
Rush availability is not guaranteed.
8. Production Timelines, Customer Delays & Delivery Estimates
Estimated Completion Dates: Any production or completion timeline provided by ThunderStomp Threadz is an estimate unless a specific deadline is expressly confirmed in writing. Timelines may vary depending on design complexity, order quantity, garment and material availability, production requirements, and other circumstances affecting the order. A production completion estimate is not a guarantee of delivery by a particular date.
Customer-Caused Delays: Customers are responsible for providing required information, design references, approvals, payments, and other requested materials in a timely manner. Delays caused by a customer's late responses, delayed approvals, failure to provide required information, late payments, or requested changes may extend the estimated production and completion timeline. Any revised timeline will depend on the nature of the delay, the remaining work, and production scheduling.
Changes to the Order: Requests to change an approved design, garment, quantity, materials, or other project requirements may extend the estimated production timeline. Any resulting changes to the expected completion or shipment date will be communicated to the customer as appropriate.
Circumstances Outside Our Control: Production or shipping may also be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including supplier delays, unavailable materials, carrier disruptions, severe weather, or other unexpected events. If a delay affects an order, ThunderStomp Threadz will communicate relevant updates and, where appropriate, a revised estimated completion or shipment date.
Shipping and Delivery: Completion of production and delivery by a carrier are separate events. Unless expressly confirmed in writing, ThunderStomp Threadz does not guarantee a specific carrier delivery date. Once an order has shipped, transit times may vary based on the carrier and circumstances outside our control. This provision does not limit any rights or remedies available to the customer under applicable law.
9. Custom Request Form Requirement
Customers requesting a standard single-jacket custom order must complete the Custom Request Form before paying the deposit.
The form allows customers to:
-
Describe their concept and design preferences.
-
Upload reference images and other relevant information.
-
Communicate their desired style, fit, colors, and embroidery details.
-
Begin the custom design discussion.
An approximate price range may be discussed based on the information provided and the anticipated production requirements.
Large-quantity projects may require a separate project brief, quote, artwork review, or written agreement before an initial payment is collected.
Customers are responsible for communicating relevant design preferences and requested garment specifications before production begins.
10. Large-Quantity Custom Projects: Deposit & Payment Terms
Large-quantity custom projects are quoted individually according to the number of garments, artwork, embroidery requirements, materials, labor, production schedule, and other project-specific needs.
Upfront Payment
Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, large-quantity custom projects generally require an upfront payment equal to 50% of the agreed estimated project price before production begins.
The initial payment amount will be specified in the applicable quote or invoice. Different deposit amounts or payment arrangements may be agreed upon in writing when appropriate for the project.
The remaining balance will be invoiced according to the payment schedule established for the project. The project agreement or invoice will specify the applicable payment milestones, due dates, and shipping or delivery arrangements.
The standard single-jacket $150 deposit and automatic second-payment schedule do not apply to large-quantity projects unless expressly agreed upon in writing.
Project-Specific Payment Arrangements
Because large projects may involve substantial material purchases, multiple production stages, client approvals, or fixed delivery deadlines, payment arrangements will be established according to the requirements of each project.
Customers should review and confirm the applicable quote, invoice, and payment terms before submitting the initial payment.
11. Estimated Pricing & Final Project Costs — Large-Quantity Orders
Preliminary Project Estimates
For large-quantity custom projects, ThunderStomp Threadz may provide an estimated price range or approximate per-garment price based on the information available at the time of quoting.
Unless expressly identified as a fixed quote in writing, an estimate is preliminary and is intended to establish the anticipated project budget rather than guarantee an exact final price.
The final price may depend on the actual labor, embroidery complexity, materials, garment requirements, quantity, and other work necessary to complete the agreed project.
Final Pricing Within an Estimated Range
Where a customer has been provided with and has agreed to an estimated price range for a defined project scope, the final price per garment may vary within that range based on the work required to complete the agreed specifications.
An initial approximate per-garment price is not necessarily a fixed final price.
If the anticipated final price will exceed the upper limit of the disclosed range, or if no upper limit was specified and a material price increase becomes necessary, ThunderStomp Threadz will notify the customer and seek agreement to the revised pricing before proceeding with the affected work.
Acceptance of Pricing Through Quotes & Invoices
A quote, invoice, or revised invoice may establish or confirm the pricing applicable to a project. Customers are responsible for reviewing the stated pricing, quantities, payment calculations, and applicable terms before signing, approving, or paying an invoice.
Where an invoice clearly identifies the applicable per-garment price, total project price, or revised pricing, the customer's signature, written approval, or payment may serve as evidence of acceptance of the pricing stated in that invoice.
For invoices requesting a deposit or partial payment, the invoice should clearly identify the per-garment price or total project price on which the payment is calculated. Payment of a deposit or partial-payment invoice may provide evidence that the customer accepted the stated pricing basis, although the effect of that payment will depend on the invoice wording and the surrounding circumstances.
Customers should raise any questions or concerns about stated pricing before signing, approving, or paying the invoice. Any subsequent changes to the agreed pricing or project scope should be documented in writing.
Additional Work & Changes in Scope
Requests for additional embroidery, design revisions, added materials, changes in garment quantity, or other work beyond the agreed project scope may result in additional charges.
Where reasonably practicable, ThunderStomp Threadz will communicate the additional cost and obtain the customer's written approval before performing the additional work. Written approval may be provided by email or another written communication that clearly confirms the agreed change and its associated cost.
Changes to Estimated Costs
If circumstances arise that materially affect the anticipated project cost, including unexpected material requirements, additional labor, or production requirements not reasonably accounted for in the original estimate, ThunderStomp Threadz will notify the customer of the anticipated adjustment and seek agreement on revised pricing before proceeding with the affected work.
Any agreed revisions to pricing, project scope, or payment arrangements should be documented in writing.
If the parties cannot agree on a necessary adjustment, they will discuss an appropriate resolution under their existing agreement and applicable law.
Fixed Quotes
A fixed price or maximum price applies only when expressly established in writing. The applicable quote or project agreement should identify whether the stated price is fixed, estimated, or subject to an agreed range.
Customers are encouraged to review quotes and invoices carefully and raise any pricing questions before making payment or authorizing additional work.
12. Unresponsive & Abandoned Single-Jacket Orders
The following standard timelines apply to single-jacket custom orders unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Large-quantity projects are subject to the project-specific terms established in their written agreement.
Definition of Unresponsive
A customer may be considered unresponsive if they fail to respond to communications regarding design approvals, payment notifications, required information, or other necessary steps to move the project forward for 15 calendar days.
Definition of Abandoned
A single-jacket custom order may be considered abandoned if the customer remains unresponsive or fails to complete required steps from the initial deposit through the second-payment period and up to day 20, preventing the project from proceeding.
Before treating an order as abandoned, ThunderStomp Threadz may consider the communication history, the status of production, outstanding approvals, and the customer's compliance with the applicable order terms.
Consequences of Abandonment
Subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the order:
-
The $150 initial deposit and $150 second payment may be retained as non-refundable payments under the applicable terms.
-
The order may be permanently closed.
-
Artwork, materials, or concepts may be repurposed, resold, or used as a studio sample, subject to any separately purchased design exclusivity or other written agreement.
Customers are encouraged to maintain communication throughout the custom process to avoid unnecessary delays or closure of their order.
13. Cancellations
Single-Jacket Custom Orders
Customers may cancel a standard single-jacket custom request by emailing inquire@thunderstompthreadz.com before the 14-day mark following order placement.
If cancellation is received before the 14-day mark:
-
The scheduled second $150 payment will not be charged, provided the cancellation is received in time to stop the scheduled payment.
-
The initial $150 deposit remains non-refundable, subject to applicable law and any specific written agreement.
Once the second payment has been processed, cancellation does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund of prior payments. The order may be subject to the unresponsiveness and abandonment provisions of Section 11, depending on the circumstances.
A cancellation request received on or after the 14-day mark does not automatically prevent the scheduled second payment or entitle the customer to a refund. The customer should contact ThunderStomp Threadz to discuss the order's status and applicable terms.
Large-Quantity Custom Projects
Deposits for large-quantity custom orders are non-refundable once paid, except where required by applicable law or otherwise agreed to in writing by ThunderStomp Threadz. Customers may request that work on an order be discontinued; however, discontinuing work does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund of amounts paid or release them from remaining payment obligations established by the applicable accepted terms.
The financial consequences of discontinuing a large-quantity custom order will be determined by the applicable written quote, email correspondence, invoices, and other written terms accepted by the customer, together with applicable law. These terms may address work already performed, materials purchased or committed to, and other agreed project costs or payment obligations.
Large-quantity custom orders are not subject to the single-jacket cancellation timeline described above. The applicable project terms govern instead.
14. Final Payment & Order Completion
Single-Jacket Custom Orders
When a custom jacket is complete:
-
ThunderStomp Threadz will provide a completion photo.
-
A Shopify invoice will be sent for the remaining balance.
-
The jacket will ship only after the final balance has been paid.
Failed or Unpaid Final Payment
For standard single-jacket custom orders, customers have 48 hours after the applicable final payment deadline or payment-failure notification to resolve the issue, unless another arrangement has been agreed upon in writing.
If payment is not received within that period, the order may be treated as abandoned, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
Where an order is abandoned, prior payments may be retained under the applicable terms, and the completed jacket may be resold, repurposed, or used as a studio sample, subject to any separately agreed exclusivity or other written obligations.
Large-Quantity Project Completion
Large-quantity projects follow the approval, invoicing, payment, shipping, and delivery schedule established through the applicable written quote, email correspondence, invoices, and any additional written terms accepted by the customer.
The applicable written terms may specify when progress payments and final balances are due, whether interim approvals are required, and when completed garments will be released for shipment or delivery.
Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, outstanding balances must be paid in accordance with the applicable accepted terms before the corresponding garments are shipped or released.
15. Design Ownership & Exclusivity
Designs created or stitched by ThunderStomp Threadz remain the property of ThunderStomp Threadz unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
For standard custom designs, customers may purchase exclusivity for an additional $150, which will be added to the sale price.
If the exclusivity fee is not paid, ThunderStomp Threadz may reproduce, use, and sell the design to other customers, subject to any other applicable written agreement.
For large-quantity projects, any design exclusivity, licensing, restrictions on reuse, or ownership arrangements must be expressly agreed upon in writing. The standard $150 exclusivity fee does not automatically establish the terms for large-quantity projects.
